The triumph of political Russophobia.

I believe that revolutions of the latest kind, organised using a flashmob, represent a colossal danger for humanity. The internet, promoted as a means of free interaction and association and also a channel of free information, actually forms a social dimension permeated with the energy of hatred. This kind of media influence allows the special services of various countries to bypass the direct subornation and recruitment of agents: it is sufficient to create elementary media illusions and then, using extremely simple tricks, to reduce people to a morbid state of agitation, after which it is quite easy to make them move in the required direction. The ultra-nationalist revolution in the Ukraine is a phenomenon of this type, and therefore I regard any euphoria about it as entirely inappropriate. It has nothing to do with “gaining freedom”. The “new, single world” proclaimed by internet capitalism is hell, and progressive humanity is rushing into it with joyful haste.
The events in Ukraine during the last two months are tragic. The triumph of political Russophobia in the countries of the west is reminiscent of the orgy of anti-Semitism in fascist Germany. I am not a supporter of the Russian authorities, but in the given situation Russia has not yet done anything that deserves such furious and total condemnation. If political Russophobia in the countries of the west is not recognized as a morbid phenomenon, it will inevitably lead to war in Europe and the destabilization of the entire region. This will inflict severe damage on everyone – Russia, Ukraine and the European Union. Perhaps American politicians believe that the US will be the winner in this situation, but that is a mistake. In the final analysis the destabilization of Europe will also harm the United States. Therefore I call on everyone to make every possible effort to restore peace in the Ukraine. The Ukrainian and Russian peoples are not merely brothers – they are Siamese twins, they can’t live without each other, and this is not simply an economic and political fact, it is a spiritual reality.
I live partly in Russia and partly in Ukraine, so I know that these two peoples actually love each other very deeply. If the blind, destructive enthusiasm of the US and internet civilization kill the love that these two peoples have for each other, it means the end of the spiritual path for Russia and the whole of Ukraine. And for Europe this quarrel between Siamese twins will mean the transformation of all of Europe into a continent ablaze, under the unchallenged rule of suspicion, fear, malice, violence and egotistical greed. It will not be only the interested parties who suffer, but also those who have absolutely nothing to do with all this. I call on the people of Europe to reject politicians who make a career out of Russophobia and remember that we all need peace in Europe as much as the air we breathe.
